Oxhey Jets strengthened their grip on second place in the Premier Division after taking four points from their matches against St Margaretsbury and London Colney.

On Tuesday, Jets were held to a 1-1 away draw at St Margaretsbury.

The game was closely contested throughout and neither side made the breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes.

The deadlock was broken with 20 minutes remaining as a clever pass from Warren Gladdy put Ian Bywater through on goal and he finished well.

Jets thought they had done enough to secure the victory but St Margaretsbury levelled late on to claim a point.

An efficient Oxhey performance saw Benny Higham’s side complete a 3-0 win over London Colney on Saturday.

Lewis Putman put Jets ahead and their lead was doubled before the interval when Gavin Hart bundled the ball in.

Colney didn’t make it easy for Oxhey to secure the three points but just after the hour, Putman added his second of the game to seal the win.

In Division One, Kings Langley’s 11-match unbeaten run came to an end after they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Bedford.

Chris Johnson had put Bedford ahead at the break with a shot from just inside the area.

In the second half though, two quick goals put Kings ahead as Joe Gallagher smashed home before Jimmy Armstrong converted a penalty.

Josh Sturniolo levelled for Bedford before Kings, who were reduced to nine men due to injury and a Luke Ladyman red card, conceded in the 11th minute of stoppage time when Gareth Hunt found the net.

On Tuesday, 17th-placed Sun Postal Sports suffered a 5-1 defeat against Winslow Town.
