Watford Observer: Hall still training with Watford despite contract expiring Hall still training with Watford despite contract expiring

Fitz Hall is still training with the Hornets despite his contract expiring and the club changing head coach, the Watford Observer understands.

Hall's one-month deal, which was agreed towards the end of Gianfranco Zola's reign, expired just before Christmas.

New boss Beppe Sannino replaced Zola towards the end of the player's short-term contract but we understand he has allowed the player to still train with the club.

Hall made one start and one substitute appearance after Zola decided to re-sign the player following a string of defensive injuries.

The 33-year-old excelled in his 22 outings for the Hornets last season but after the player initially delayed contract talks, the club’s hierarchy decided to opt for other options in the summer.

Hall has been training with the club most of this season, apart from a brief trial at Millwall.

I would give him a contract until the end of the season, that is unless we
have a confirmed date for Hobans return, anyway he will be of the pace for
a couple of months.
Bring your wet weather gear for tomorrow evening guys as its wet down here,
still hope for 1200+ for the game

He is our best aerial defender by far, and a more reliable character than the inconsistent Ekstrand.

It's open seating at Yeovil and the weather forecast isn't great.

Just give him a contract until the end of the season. It shouldn't depend on when Hoban supposed to be ready. Just like any other player, Hoban won't play well in every match so we need a good defender on the bench anyway and he might even get injured again. Hall is too good to just cast aside. And it would be a lot cheaper than having to get someone else in.

Following on from the previous article, lets now proceed with a cast iron defence with all the spare parts ready (sorry Fitz - didn't mean it that way).

BBC is forecasting heavy rain for Yeovil from 0500 - 1700, followed by heavy, blustery showers. If they do call it off, I hope that they don't wait until the last minute because it's on TV.

Having looked at the BBC weather website I don't see how the game will go ahead unless they have amazing hi-tech drainage.

The weather forecast looks similar to the one before the Bristol City away game on Boxing Day 2012. That was a 3pm kick-off and was called off just before it was due to start. Bristol's pitch isn't great, and Yeovil's isn't going to be much better.

You have to think what the referee will ask himself. If he inspects a wet pitch at lunchtime, he will look at the same weather foreceast and decide that it, in all likelihood, conditions will get worse, and the pitch will deteriorate when players start running around on it.

The ground is already saturated from previous storms. My advice to travelling Hornets would be to think carefully about making that long trip, when it's highly likely to be called off. It's on the TV, after all, in the unlikely event it does go ahead.

If you are going, fair play to you. Safe trip. And bring your waterproof!

I have already reported this. Not a lot they can do about it I suppose. Even if they blacklist that account, they will just open another one.

Yeovil's Web Page says pitch is covered and game on tomorrow. I hope this is so as it is along journey particularly late in the day. Hope we do not get to wet and take the three points.
