Watford's game at Yeovil Town this evening has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Staff at Huish Park had covered the pitch ahead of the expected bad weather but referee James Adcock has decided to call off the game ahead of the 5.30pm kick-off as the continued heavy rain made the pitch unplayable.

The Hornets had been hoping to extend their unbeaten run under Beppe Sannino to four matches in front of the Sky TV cameras but they will now turn their attention to Saturday's FA Cup third round trip to Bristol City.

As it currently stands at 3.30pm with the results not going our way, we are DOWN TO 17TH POSITION!!

The table looks more like a relegation battle, than a late charge at the play-offs!!

And even my local game at Ashton Gate will be off on Sat, for the West country has been saturated these past few days!

Remember last season anyone?

We've had games cancelled because of rain. They've had 12 hours of heavy rain and expect another 10. If it wasn't televised the game would have been off early this morning. Sky put all the pressure on this fixture to go ahead. Blame them, not Yeovil.

Gutted. Particularly for all the fans that went down there! Still, trying to look at positives it probably would gave been a terrible game in terrible conditions - not conducive to our passing game and perhaps it would have been 0-0 or worse! Also, when we now play the rearranged fixture Anya and Fessi should be fit which gives us more chance of winning.
No need to rest anyone for the cup game now too. Strongest XI please Beppe, maybe give Bond a game though.

Exeter was called off because at midday the pitch was soaked and it was raining at that time and there were no covers. Oh yeah, and get real because Plymouth was on,

Incidentally we are currently 6 points from the play off position with a game in hand and 9 points above relegation with a game in hand. They are the statistics that matter irrespective of whether we are 7th, 10th, 14th or 17th.
Zola has now gone, during which time I saw the best football at watford in 40 years as a supporter, the last 30 as a season ticket holder, we all move on but Roger

Will be gutted if those rumours about FF and Anya turn out to be true.
They are the two my lad and I were talking about on the journey to the Vic for the QPR game. We thought they were our best chance of getting one over on Arrys boys ,we were really disappointed to discover neither was in the team.
Doesn't make much sense to get rid of players who have cracked the Championship when so many are still struggling to adapt. I know the Pozzos have a business plan but it would take very inflated bids to make this worthwhile at a time when we are regrouping under a new manager. Let,s hope its a lot of hot air.

A sensible post at last. As you say Stoney, another few days for Anya and Fessi to get fit. We may also have some loanees to come in by the weekend (Udinese pair have been mentioned).
We need to think positive about getting into the top 6 - it looks a massive ask to do any better than that. Early days I know but I get the feeling we have a more solid basis now. This month could be crucial to how the rest of the season pans out. If we can be in top 7 or 8 before the end of January....who knows?

Early days I know but I get the feeling we have a more solid basis now. This month could be crucial to how the rest of the season pans out. If we can be in top 7 or 8 before the end of January....who knows? Drewoneone

Discracefully late decision with Yeovil blaming the referee ( for not wanting to get there before 2.30pm ), and Sky .Whoever is to blame , the decision should have been made no later than 11am to save our fans travelling the 250 miles return trip in appalling conditions ( health and safety). Once again football couldn't give a f8ck to the fans . I could have laid money on it being off , last Sunday , so why no foresight by the authorities. Saturday should be fun if Bristol isn't called off in advance.

Pretty harsh on those travelling but usually refs are commended for giving it every chance - they can't call it off until they know it will be unplayable and you couldn't have called that earlier in the day- this isn't Sunday league football! Personally saw this match as an obvious one to swerve- New Year's Day, huge journey, huge chance of being called off, on Sky.....

Yeovil were saying that they asked the referee to come to the ground earlier ...but he refused . As it was he arrived 30 mins earlier than he was due ie 2pm instead of 2.30pm. Sorry , but the game SHOULD have been called off earlier , and having seen the pitch / ground / weather forecast in my opinion it was a no brainer. Some of the Yeovil staff agreed it was too late a call.

You saw the best football last season with a different coaching team! Zola's second season has 90% been horrific and yet you happy clapper waffle on how great Zola was ( worst home record in almost a quarter of a century)!

Next time get one of your two brain cells working before you write utter dribble and as far away from the truth as it can be. The truth bit of your pen name is laughable, you obviously have a fantasy understanding of the truth which is nothing to do with reality. Watch out for section 2 or 3 if this problem persists!

My my Rogeruk. What an angry person you are. Support such as yours; as questionable as it is, is the last thing WFC need. You ask where are the 90% of Zola fans now. Well, we've moved on, unlike yourself. However, since you mention him it's worth noting that if it weren't for a bad day at Wembley you'd be praising him no doubt. The fact that Palace and Watford failed to turn up at Wembley and dished up a load of dross (Saha apart) demonstrates how fickle this game is.
Your tenuous attempt to link Communism and the Proletariat to supporting Watford exposes the shallowness of your rant.
For what it's worth; I've supported Watford under at least 18 managers beginning with Neil McBain and consider Zola to have been in the top half of these in terms of dishing up flowing football and expectation. Move on Rog.

Not one of you can admit you got it wrong while a few of us got it right, we are the true Watford fans we want the best for our team unlike the bunch of happy clappers on this site, whose only interest is to defend with the security of numbers their own interests and not that of the club they purport to support!

Clubbing together Bully style to jump on anyone with an opinion but if it’s different to the sheeple - watch out this bunch of neo communists will tear down on anyone with a different opinion like a plague. The irony is the few people who got it right; get vilified! Whilst the sheeple go on in praise of each other in glorious defeat! Actually that's classic communism!

Be warned you new posters, the proletariat on here has its own particular concept of morality which will brook no dissension, they are always right, they are your 'Berlin Wall' do not attempt to get over it, unless you have the cojones to face up to these Bullies!

Don’t worry help is at hand! There are a few libertarians on here who believe in free speech and democracy and we will fight for your right to make your opinion known even if we disagree with what you say we will defend your right to say it! Ode to RogerUK

Roger oh Rogeroo,
You have two legs, you speak some truth,
You aren’t a sheeple,
You don’t climb steeples,
But you’re red through and through.

You come from a land of Mars,
Where they drive yellow cars,
You love your grannie,
Your moobs are canny,
You like to spread Yellow truth in Yates’ bars.

We like your style,
We like your wit,
Some may say you are a tit,

We are warriors in search of success,
We knew early of GZ’s big mess.

That dude Belkalem, looks like Bond’s Jaws,
Yet us warriors we fight a noble cause,
You follow your head,
Sheeples follow their hearts,
We all know the Sheeples are goat-herding tarts.

So here I end my ode to you,
We’re all yellow through and through,
One thing SA Hornet saw that he can show,
Is that you, Sir Roger, like eating yellow snow.

This is part of HC’s Personalised Ode Initiative.

I thank you
HC

Everyone is rightly well gutted about the Yeovil game being called off but having looked at the pictures on Sky showing the water on the plastic sheeting and the flooding in the dugouts I don't think the ref had much choice. However the game should and could have been called off much earlier to try and cut down on the numbers making a wasted journey. My hunch is that Sky wanted to leave the decision as late as possible and couldn't really give a toss about the fans turning up for the game.

Looking on the positive side by the time we do face them I reckon we will have a much stronger team and will hopefully get the three points.

From what I have heard Merkel and Ranegie could make a real impact in the Championship and help us turn this season around. Now is the time to get behind the boys and be positive for the new year COYH.

I thought this site and the official club site was supposed to keep us up to date with what's happening at the club but I haven't seen anything official yet regarding the new signings. Hopefully we will get some news today.

And even my local game at Ashton Gate will be off on Sat, for the West country has been saturated these past few days!

Remember last season anyone?
Just confirms once again what a shocking job Zola did this season and what a mess he left behind him, where are his 90% of supporters now?
I'm a Beppe fan and a Zola fan. But never a rogeruk fan.
Btw I just looked and we're 14th not 17th.
Well done Bush. Great response to a nonsense post!

What does it take to get through to people like you? Oh yes intelligence, OK you're forgiven!
pathetic drivel...
Zola has gone so leave it alone. Yes I liked him and thought he could turn it around. Yes I give the new manager my full support and hope for success for my team. I have moved on from Zola leaving.
Happy Clapper is such an ignorant term (unintelligent to use your derogatory terms).
What was the purpose of your statement "Just confirms once again what a shocking job Zola did this season and what a mess he left behind him, where are his 90% of supporters now?" if not to be antagonistic.

I have just looked at the position after 19 games this over last 10 years as a comparison to this dire position we were in when Zola left..

13/14 (Zola) 25 Points - 12th
12/13 (Zola) 30 Points - 8th
11/12 (Dyche) 22 Points - 18th
10/11 (Malky) 24 Points - 15th
9/10 (Malky) 27 Points - 12th
8/9 (AB/Rodgers) 19 Points - 21st
7/8 (Aidy) 36 Points - 1st
6/7 (Premiership)
5/6 (Aidy) 35 Points - 3rd
4/5 (Lewington) 27 Points - 11th

Yes I agree we were in a period of poor form, and hopefully the new manager will turn it around. To be honest he has been left with a good team that need just a bit of confidence and a bit of luck.

PS.. we are one of only 3 teams in the Championship that he have lost only 2 games away all season, no one has lost less.

I live in Tiverotn in the Exe Valley and sadly too far from Vicarage Road now.
However I am able to wear my Watford scarf to Tiverton's games as they play in Watford's colours!

If you are going to title your posts, which I suppose is ok if self deprecatory , then you should put them in quotes.

So yours should start "Pathetic Drivel".

Please can you be careful about this in future as I have just wated several minutes of my life reading your tiresome screed.
