Watford beat Southend United in comfortable fashion 19 years ago today.

Watford Observer: On this date in Watford FC's history On this date in Watford FC's history

Saturday, February 4, 1995

A feeble-looking Southend United side were dispatched 4-0 at Roots Hall with Darren Bazeley - playing up front with loanee Nigel Jemson during an injury crisis - the unlikely scorer of a hat-trick.

A Craig Ramage penalty completed the scoring; former Hornet Keith Dublin was in the Southend side.

Gosh, is this match really 19 years ago?

I was there with my old travelling buddies and we all agreed that this was certainly his finest match in a Watford shirt.

Darren went through school in Northampton with my nephew who i emailed only this morning to wish him a happy 41st birthday. What a coincidence.

I wonder what a 41 year old Darren Bazeley is doing today and where he is.

Does anybody have any ideas?
