Villa Park was the venue as Watford took on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
In the absence of two injured goalkeepers and with the transfer window expired, the number one shirt was worn by Gary Plumley, son of the club's chief executive, who had retired from professional football and was running a wine bar in Wales.
Spurs were three-up by half-time, eventually winning 4-1.
The match saw the final Watford outing of former record signing, whose season ended after he suffered a dislocated elbow.
