Les Pilkington was born in Darwen, Lancashire.

A lightweight right-winger, Pilkington started five games in 15 months at Vicarage Road under Ron Gray without ever retaining his place in the side and left at the end of the catastrophic 1950/51 season which saw the club face re-election to the Football League.

We're really scraping the barrel now. First we have articles on ex-players' births and now ex-players who couldn't retain their positions in the team births! I suppose it'll be a part-time cleaner's birth next. Please let's have some news!
