Adult tickets for Watford’s pre-season friendly against Udinese will cost only £3 and profits made from ticket sales for the game will be donated to the Royal British Legion.

The Hornets are welcoming the Italian side, who are also owned by the Pozzos, to Vicarage Road on Saturday, August 2.

Tickets for under-16s are priced at £1 while it will be £2 for concessions.

After the costs of staging the game are covered all money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Royal British Legion, which also receives £1 from every Hornets away shirt sold this season.

Tickets can be purchased in advanced in the Rookery Stand and Graham Taylor Stand and are on sale at watfordfctickets.co.uk, via the Ticket Office hotline on 01923 223023 and in person at the Hornets Shop on Vicarage Road.

As the profits are going to a good cause, dare I say perhaps the club should have charged a little more. A Fiver might have been better and everyone would still have thought it was very good value.

That's cool. £3 to watch a game against a sister club from the Seria A, perhaps sitting in the Graham Taylor stand, looking at the (almost) complete new stand and watching the new players (and returning old). Perhaps watching a side that can achieve promotion. What could be better than that? Oh, yes, a chunk of the money going to a good cause on the 100th anniversary of the First World War. How things have changed in just two years.
Maybe we could have a ceremonial burning of a red helmet to really complete the day

Italy fought against the central powers in the Great War, and Italy switched allegiance to the allies during the Second World War. That kind of narrow minded lazy comment is incredibly frustrating!!
