Watford have confirmed they are still looking for a pre-season friendly – or friendlies – next weekend.

The Hornets, as of this afternoon, have been unable to arrange any fixtures for the weekend of July 25-27.

We understand the Golden Boys were looking at the possibility of a double header in Scotland last week but nothing has yet to be agreed.

Watford today confirmed they were trying to arrange “a game or games” for that weekend.

However, the club also “strongly advised” supporters that they should not book travel for any fixtures without them confirming the game will take place.

The Golden Boys play their first UK friendly of the summer on Saturday as they make the trip to League Two side Shrewsbury Town.

The match kicks off at 3pm and tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for seniors (over-65), disabled supporters, students and under-16s while under-11s will be charged £1.

A Watford Under-21 side consisting of Academy scholars and young professionals take on Wealdstone next Wednesday (July 23).

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and tickets are available on the day and are priced at £10 for adults, £5 concessions and £2 for under-16s.

The Hornets’ first team then take on Coventry City at Boreham Wood’s Meadow Park on Wednesday, July 30. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Places in a seated stand cost £16 while it’s £12 for standing, concessions, under-16s and senior citizens (standing) cost £8.

Watford’s only pre-season friendly at Vicarage Road is against fellow Pozzo-owned club Udinese at 3pm on Saturday, August 2.

Adult tickets for that game cost £3 and all money raised from ticket sales for the match, after the costs of staging the game are covered, will be donated to the Royal British Legion.

Tickets for under-16s are priced at £1 while it will be £2 for concessions.

The Hornets’ Under-21 squad are back in action on Wednesday, August 6 when they face Hemel Hempstead Town. Ticket prices for that match have yet to be announced.

An Under-18 side take on Kings Langley on Friday at Gaywood Park. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £1 concessions.

The Academy team then face Oxford United at home on Saturday, July 26 and Queens Park Rangers away on Tuesday, July 29.

The Under-18s are expected to have other behind-closed-doors games.
