Watford reaped the immediate benefit of Spurs' recent recruitment of German striker Jurgen Klinsmann as a crowd of more than 14,000 turned out for a pre-season friendly at Vicarage Road.
Richard Johnson gave the Hornets the lead, Teddy Sheringham equalising for the visitors. Added entertainment was provided by a ferret making an unscheduled pitch invasion during the course of the game.
