Hornets youngster Josh Doherty was part of the Northern Ireland side which defeated Mexico 2-1 in the Milk Cup but the game was marred by two mass brawls and four red cards.

Mexico were leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Victor Guzman when trouble broke out in the 57th minute in Coleraine.

Kicks and punches were thrown by both sets of players, with Josh Doherty reportedly knocked down during the fight.

Both benches entered the pitch as the melee escalated and stewards were also involved in breaking up the brawl.

Once the players had been separated, referee Tim Marshall eventually sent off Mexico goalkeeper Raul Gudino and defender Carlos Arreola as well as Northern Ireland's Robbie McDaid.

Northern Ireland levelled the contest through Mikhail Kennedy before Mexico’s Kevin Gutierrez was dismissed.

Sean Mullan then struck to put Nothern Ireland in front and another brawl then ensued, with the referee ending the game with one minute remaining.

Referee Marshall did confirm after that match that the result will stand.
