Watford go into their opening Championship match with Bolton Wanderers as the 6/5 favourites with Paddy Power to pick up the three points.

Beppe Sannino's side have had a mixed run during pre-season but are looking to mount an automatic promotion push this time around.

The Hornets struggled last season against Wanderers with two defeats and failed to even score. Bolton have a strong recent record against Watford with seven wins from their last eight matches so this could make 13/5 with Coral appeal for an away win.

It looks like Troy Deeney will start the season with Watford and last season's top scorer is 9/2 with Paddy Power to be the first goalscorer. He ended the season with goals in his last three games, helping him to a total of 25, so there is every reason to think he can get off to a fast start tomorrow.

We want a good 3 or 4 margin win but with Troy having a lousy game and getting substituted. Hopefully he'll only get onto gear after the transfer window closes...

Well I tried to put a bet on-line with William Hill for us getting promoted. They can not do it. Last time I placed a bet with WFC is yonks back when Luther got 2 goals up at Man. U. and I was at the game. Just 7-1 odds from a bookie in Northwood Hills. Would love to have a fun bet but there you go!!!

I'm calling a 3-0 win. Vydra will score a brace, getting back to his usual ways, and Oghilo or however it's spelt will score a late-ish one after deeney is substituted ........... I hope anyway. I wouldn't expect Deeney to be on top form either. However, I'd be surprised if he was actually picked... if he was in the starting 11, it would suggest to me that the club perhaps think he's staying? Which may then make Deeney feel his staying and thus in the right gear and not unsettled? I don't know. That's a little far fetched in terms of thought but we'll see! :D

I predict a 2-3 defeat to a last minute goal courtesy of a Gomes howler, having been 2 nil up at half time.
Cue hundreds of negative comments slating Gomes, Sannino, Nani, Vydra, Deeney, Mcgugan, Fabrrini, and stating that the new foreign legion are just not up to it and never will be. We will have lost our soul and be doomed for relegation. Should never have let Dyche go, nor Assombalonga.
Please note these fans would be the same ones waxing lyrical in the V bar at half time about how were going to smash the league at 2-0 up
