Watford have made the perfect start to their Championship opener with Bolton Wanderers. At half-time the Hornets lead 2-0 thanks to goals from Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra.

Deeney, who has been the subject of several bids from Premier League sides this summer, netted the opener in the 16th minute.

A long pass forward from Gabriele Angella put the striker through and he lifted the ball over Andy Lonergan from close range.

The Hornets have been excellent throughout the opening 45 minutes of their Championship campaign and Vydra doubled their advantage.

The Czech international scampered on to a long pass forward, collected the ball and cut back past Tim Ream before firing through the legs of Lonergan.

Watford: Gomes; Tamas, Ekstrand, Angella; Paredes, Abdi, Tozser, McGugan, Pudil; Vydra, Deeney

Watford subs not used: Bond, Hoban, Dyer, Munari, Forestieri, Doyley, Ranegie.

Bolton Wanderers: Lonergan, McNaughton, Mills, Ream, Moxey; Spearing, Medo, Pratley; Lee, Danns, Davies.

Bolton Wanderers substitutes: Bogdan, Feeney, Beckford, Dervite, Trotter, Wheater, Wilkinson.

Great start to the season. 3 unanswered goals. No last minute equaliser/winner.

Now this thread gets messy.

Some will be clappers, some will be Bassinis best buddies, sone will just be plain idiots with no real insight.

There will be veiled threats, insults and derogation due to opinions.

But we got 3 points and watched a good team play well!!!!

Lets focus on that? Just a thought...

So pleased that we have started so well. Keep feet on ground. If our away form can stay as good as last year we are in the right place.
