Watford will be without Ikechi Anya and Craig Cathcart for Saturday’s trip to Norwich City while Lloyd Doyley is a doubt for the Hornets’ first Championship away match of the season.

Anya picked up a knee injury in training last week and that will keep him out while Cathcart remains sidelined with the knee problem he sustained in pre-season against Shrewsbury Town.

Doyley limped out of yesterday’s Capital One Cup first round victory at Stevenage with a hamstring injury and is doubtful ahead of the trip to Carrow Road.

Mathias Ranegie missed the 1-0 win at Boro due to a groin problem but returned to training today and should be available for selection.

Here we go again! Another hamstring injury. What is it with the training/medical team/ physics that this is a recurring problem?
