Watford's first away trip of the season took them to St. James' Park to face Newcastle United.
Luther Blissett's appearance in the line-up set a new club record, taking him past Duncan Welbourne's record 457 appearances for the club.
He got on the scoresheet too, getting a kick in the face for his trouble after Peter Nicholas had earlier equalised Andy Hunt's opening goal. The game finished 2-2.
