Watford expect head coach Oscar Garcia to leave hospital today but there is no indication as to when the Spaniard will be able to return to work.

Oscar was admitted to hospital on Sunday after suffering 'minor chest pains' and has been kept in since after undergoing tests.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion head coach missed Tuesday's 1-0 victory at Blackpool, with assistants Javier Pereira and Ruben Martinez taking charge of the team.

Ahead of Saturday's visit from AFC Bournemouth (12.15pm kick off), Martinez said: "He will be with us in a few days."

Martinez was also able to confirm the 41-year-old would not be in attendance at Vicarage Road on Saturday for the Hornets' clash with the Cherries.

Having been admitted to hospital than a fortnight into his reign, the timing of Oscar's illness has not been ideal but Martinez insists the focus is now on football following positive news.

He said: "We know that if he is well we put all the focus on football because we are here to focus on the club.

"Everybody is focussed on football at this moment because everybody knows Oscar is well."

The former Barcelona goalkeeper added: "Now it is not a big problem because he is well. Our target, our job is to put all the focus on the football, on the matches and on training.

"Maybe for the first day for the players to come here to the training ground and know that Oscar had a problem [was not ideal]. But I think the reaction of the players was very good and I hope to keep with this reaction."

After two away games, Oscar will miss what would have been his first home match as Hornets head coach and Martinez hopes to oversee a second win in the absence of the former Barcelona midfielder.

"In front of our home fans, we hope that they support us for sure as they do always," explained Martinez. "I hope to give them another victory."
