Unlike many visitors early in Gianluca Vialli's season, Birmingham City opted against sitting back and stifling his team's faltering passing game, leading to an open encounter.
Defensive lapses contributed to a point that City scarcely deserved as the game ended 3-3.
A comedy highlight was provided when Pierre Issa, in being the third Watford player to be carried off in consecutive games, was dropped from his stretcher at the edge of the pitch. He was replaced by debutant Lloyd Doyley.
