On this date in Watford FC history
Monday, November 11, 1867
Charles Peacock was born in Watford.
A friend of club founder Henry Grover, he was involved with Watford Rovers from the outset in 1881 aged 14, and played in defence for many years.
He was later the proprietor of the Watford Observer, and his family name survived in the title of the company that published the newspaper until 1991.
