At half time against Blackpool it was hard to even contemplate their being a Watford man-of-the-match. Forty-five minutes later that had completley changed.

Odion Ighalo was handed the award by the sponsors. Given he scored four times and worked hard throughout the contest it was hardly surprising.

Troy Deeney was imperious in the second period. He scored the equaliser and came close on many occasions to adding to his tally.

The post denied him twice but despite his desire to score, he showed incredible selflessness to tee up Ighalo for Watford’s seventh.

Miguel Layun was again deployed in midfield and produced another impressive performance. He was industrious, produced a number of testing crosses and played a part in two of Watford’s goals.

He has only played three matches but the Mexican international has quickly settled into the Watford side.

Ikechi Anya was the Hornets' brightest attacking outlet in a poor first half. He was switched to left-back after the interval but played the majority of the second 45 minutes as a wing-back.

He continued to get to the byline and produced a number of crosses. One of those eventually led to Matej Vydra finding the net for the first time in 12 games.
