Mathias Ranegie has joined Chinese second-tier side Dalian Aerbin on loan until the end of 2015, the Watford Observer understands.

The 30-year-old Swede, who returned from an unsuccessful loan spell at Millwall early in November, has not been training with the Hornets' first-team in recent weeks after being told he can leave the club.

The former Udinese striker was one of four senior players training separately from the main group, with Lloyd Dyer, Lewis McGugan and Diego Fabbrini the other three.

Dalian Aerbin were relegated from Chinese football's top flight last season but are managed by Swede Mikael Stahre and he has fellow countryman Michael Kallstrom as his assistant.

The Chinese season takes place between March and November and we understand Ranegie's loan will run until the end of this calender year.

Ranegie joined the Hornets from Udinese in January last year but made just eight starts and two substitute appearances for the Golden Boys during the 2013/14 campaign, scoring four goals.

The 6ft 4in Sweden international joined Championship rivals Millwall on loan in August but fared no better, making a total of seven league outings without scoring before seeing his deal cut short.
