It was a Saturday afternoon to forget for Watford. Not only had the Hornets’ attack been blunted by Ipswich Town but the Tractor Boys then stole victory in the final seconds of the game.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side struggled to create chances throughout the contest. Their best opportunity arrived in the second period when Troy Deeney crossed for Odion Ighalo and the striker could only flick the ball over the crossbar from close range.
Ipswich defended well and had done enough to earn a draw. But Mick McCarthy’s side then snatched victory.
A Watford free-kick was cleared by the visitors and Freddie Sears outmuscled Ben Watson before passing to Richard Chaplow.
The midfielder stayed calm and rolled his shot past Hornets goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes to seal the three points for the Tractor Boys.
