Watford forward Diego Fabbrini has been sent out on loan to Birmingham City after being recalled early from his Millwall loan spell.
The 24-year-old Italian international made 12 Championship appearances for the Lions and scored once after joining the south London side on loan during the January transfer window.
However, he had only made one appearance since Ian Holloway was sacked on March 10 and Neil Harris was placed in charge.
Fabbrini, who signed for Watford from Udinese in July 2013, has made just two Championship appearances for the Hornets this season, the last of which came against Brentford in September.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Serie 'B' side Siena, scoring once in five starts before returning to Vicarage Road for pre-season.
Former Millwall boss Holloway, who signed the Italian on loan before being sacked, said he would pay to watch the former Empoli attacker after impressing at the Den.
Birmingham are currently 15th in the Championship and have another Watford player, Lloyd Dyer, on loan at St Andrews.
