Watford have announced the nine players who have been handed scholarships with the Hornets.

During the course of the two-year deals the club will then decide if the youngsters will be given a professional contract.

The nine, who were listed in Saturday's matchday programme, are: Denilson Carvalho: Left-footed creative midfielder recently signed with the Golden Boys from Watford’s training ground neighbours Arsenal.

Ashley Charles: A central midfielder who joined the Hornets Academy from the Watford FC community trust.

Treon Johnson: A quick forward who previously played for Charlton Athletic. He has been a consistent scorer at youth level.

Dion Pereira: Left-footed winger joined the Hornets in 2012 and was recently called-up to an England under-16 training camp.

Joshua Roe: The central midfielder joined Watford at Under-9 level in 2007 and has come through the Harefield programme.

Louis Rogers: A combative centre midfielder who has been with the Hornets and in the Academy programme since 2011.

Max Ryan: Another central midfielder and has been with the Hornets since 2007 at Under-9 level.

David Sesay: An attacking full-back who joined the Hornets at Under-9 level in 2007 and has come through the Harefield programme.

Andrew Thomas: Goalkeeper, who joined Watford’s Academy in 2008, will continue his development as an extended schoolboy before starting his scholarship in 2016 because he took his GCSEs a year early and is halfway through his A-levels.
