Ex-Watford loanee Adam Johnson faces child sex charges
Former Watford loanee Adam Johnson has been charged with three offences of sexual activity with a child under 16.
The Sunderland winger has also been charged with one grooming offence, Durham Constabulary confirmed this afternoon.
He spent three months on loan at Vicarage Road from parent club Middlesborough in 2007, scoring five goals in 12 appearances.
The 27-year-old will appear before Peterlee Magistrates' Court on May 20.
