Watford have agreed a deal with Genoa to sign Diego Perotti but the Hornets have yet to finalise personal terms with the player, according to reports from Italy tonight.
It is claimed a fee of €9.7 million has been shaken on for the Argentine winger, who scored four times during an impressive campaign with the Serie A side in 2014/15 following five seasons with Spanish side Sevilla.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting the Hornets have offered to double Perotti’s wages to €1.4 million per year, but is also suggesting the twice-capped international is not convinced about a move to the Premier League and would prefer to remain at Genoa or move back to Spain.
Perotti has also been heavily linked with a move to West Ham United, but if he does complete a switch to Vicarage Road it would shatter Watford’s record transfer outlay of £3.25 million for Nathan Ellington in 2007.
