Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores has received glowing praise from Troy Deeney with the Hornets skipper stating the Spaniard is probably the best head coach he has worked with.

The duo have only spent a week working alongside each other after the Golden Boys squad returned for pre-season training last Monday.

However, it appears Flores has quickly impressed Deeney, who signed a new five-year contract with Watford on Friday.

“I think he’s top, top drawer. I’m not saying that just to ‘brown-nose’ him, I honestly think he’s probably the best I’ve worked with,” Deeney told Watford’s website.

“Some managers try to force that they’re the boss, but even though he’s quite laid back, as soon as he’s talking everyone listens.

“To have a group of 25 or 26 players listening to you from day one without having to raise your voice, that shows he really knows what he’s doing.

“With the little messages he’s been giving, and pushing myself to learn different positions and movements, it’s been fantastic for me.”
