Hornets owner Gino Pozzo says there is no chance Internazionale full-back Davide Santon will join Watford this summer.
The Golden Boys entered talks with Inter last month in hope of bringing the former Newcastle United defender back to England.
However, the 24-year-old then posted a message on his Facebook page stating he had no intention of leaving the Italian side.
And Pozzo says Santon’s indifference to a move to Vicarage Road means negotiations between the two clubs has ended.
“I can say that the deal is now off the table and negotiations will not continue,” Pozzo told FCInterNews.
“I see no particular enthusiasm in the boy, despite all the time that we gave him to reflect and evaluate the deal.”
