Valon Behrami will be at Watford’s friendly at AFC Wimbledon tomorrow but will not play after his move to the Hornets was completed, the Watford Observer understands.

We reported yesterday that the Hamburg midfielder was set to move to Vicarage Road and we have been told the Swiss international has signed a three-year contract after completing his medical.

We understand the 30-year-old’s move is set to be officially announced tomorrow, making him Watford’s sixth summer addition following the signings of Sebastian Prodl, Giedrius Arlauskis, Matej Vydra, Jose Holebas and Etienne Capoue.

Former West Ham United midfielder Behrami only joined Hamburg from Napoli in a £3.2 million switch last summer and made 22 appearances for the German side.

However, the former Fiorentina and Lazio man – who has won 53 caps for Switzerland – had been given permission to discuss personal terms with Watford.
