Watford have completed the signing of Allan Nyom from Udinese with the defender signing a four-year contract at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets have been in negotiations with the Cameroonian international for just under two weeks but it looked like a deal was unlikely to be sealed after Nyom and the Golden Boys failed to agree personal terms.

The 27-year-old was believed to have verbally agreed a contract with the Hornets at the start of last week, only to then request an improved deal before putting pen to paper.

Watford did not grant that request but have now come to an agreement with Nyom. The defender will travel to Germany to link up with the Hornets’ squad at their pre-season training camp.

Nyom, who has been capped 11 times, joined Udinese in 2009 from AC Arles-Avignon but did not play for the Italian side.

He spent the last six seasons on loan at Granada, a club also owned by the Pozzo family, and has helped the Nazaríes rise from the third tier of Spanish football to La Liga.

He has made more the 200 appearances for the Spanish outfit, including 38 last term.
