Watford’s pre-season friendly with Sevilla is goalless at the interval but both sides have come close to breaking the deadlock in what has been an entertaining contest.

An early serious injury to striker Ciro Immobile, who was stretchered off and taken to hospital, halted the first half for several minutes but it has flowed freely since that sixth minute stoppage.

Both sides have created good chances. Right-back Coke has come closest for Sevilla with a shot that was palmed onto the post by Heurelho Gomes.

At the other end, Odion Ighalo struck the woodwork with a header after an excellent cross from Allan Nyom.

Miguel Layun, who has returned to Watford after winning the Gold Cup with Mexico, also tested Sevilla goalkeeper Beto with a low drive that needed pushing around the post.
