And Montavez, who can play in midfield or behind the striker, has impressed sufficiently to earn a contract at Vicarage Road.
He signed a deal with the Hornets this week after his agent, Egoitz Basurto, agreed terms with Watford.
According to Spanish paper AS, Quique Sanchez Flores’ presence at Vicarage Road is believed to be a significant factor in Montavez’s decision to swap the Spanish capital for Watford.
