Watford's Under-18s suffered only their second defeat of their Professional Development League 2 campaign on Saturday as the Hornets were beaten 5-0 by Nottingham Forest.
Midfielder Liam Adams put the Reds ahead in the fifth minute and then doubled their advantage seconds later.
Forest were in control throughout the opening period and Ben Brereton added the hosts’ third midway through the half.
He then struck again in the 32nd minute and Forest added a fifth before the break through Virgil Gomis.
The Hornets were much improved in the second period. They were able to keep Forest at bay but couldn’t grab a consolation goal.
Watford: Gartside; Sesay, Eleftheriou, Rogers, Mason; Charles, Cook; Carvalho, Obi (Folivi, 20), Pereira (Douglas, 60); Ryan (Roe, 60).
