Watford midfielder Valon Behrami is a doubt for the Hornets’ trip to Stoke City on Saturday while Spaniard Jose Manuel Jurado is out of the clash at the Britannia Stadium.

Behrami suffered a calf injury whilst on international duty with Switzerland and, while he took his place on the substitutes’ bench for the Golden Boys’ 3-0 defeat against Arsenal last weekend, he was not match-fit.

The 30-year-old has trained this week but when asked yesterday if Behrami was ready to start against the Potters, Flores admitted he wasn’t sure.

“I don’t know if he is 100 per cent,” Watford’s head coach said this afternoon. "Tomorrow I will know if he is ready or not. We will see.”

Jurado has spent the last three weeks on the sidelines as he continues to recovery from a hamstring injury he suffered in training.

And Flores has confirmed the former Athletic Madrid schemer isn’t fit to face Mark Hughes’ side. “Jurado isn’t ok. Hopefully he will be back next week,” he said.

Defender Joel Ekstrand continues to recovery from knee ligament damage and is on schedule to return at around Christmas time and the Hornets’ only other injury concern is talented centre-back Tommie Hoban.

The 21-year-old hadn’t featured for the Golden Boys this season before suffering a groin injury last month.

He underwent surgery during the international break and Flores confirmed yesterday that the Ireland Under-21 international’s rehabilitation is going to plan.

“Hoban is in recovery,” Flores said. “He is doing well. He should be back in around eight weeks.”
