Watford are asking fans to arrive early for games at Vicarage Road as security searches are to be stepped up following the terrorist attacks in Paris last Friday.
As a consequence of these measures, turnstiles will be open from 11.15am for tomorrow’s game with Manchester United.
A statement on the club’s website reads: “Following discussions with security authorities and police representatives, the number and frequency of person and bag searches at Vicarage Road Stadium will be increasing.
“Fans are asked to arrive earlier than usual to enable sufficient time for entry to the stadium, and where possible, to avoid bringing bags on home matchdays.
“Turnstiles will be open from 11.15am for tomorrow's game with Manchester United.
“Supporters are asked to remain vigilant and to report anything out of the ordinary to staff.
“Watford FC wishes to thank its supporters in advance for their patience and co-operation.”
Premier League officials have been discussing security measure at games with police and the government since the attacks and Hertfordshire Constabulary told the Watford Observer yesterday there will be extra police resources at tomorrow’s match, as well as additional searches of fans entering the ground.
