The Hornets have completed the signing of Nordin Amrabat from Malaga for a fee of €8 million, the Watford Observer understands.
The 28-year-old has signed a three and a half year contract with Watford, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2019.
Watford have been close to concluding a deal for Amrabat for several days but La Liga side Malaga were insistent the Morocco international wouldn’t be leaving the club unless a side triggered his release clause.
The Hornets eventually matched that figure - around £6.1million - and the move was quickly concluded after the winger undertook a medical and agreed personal terms.
Amrabat joined Malaga permanently in the summer after impressing on a season loan long deal from Galatasaray during the 2014/2015 campaign.
He began his career in Holland playing for Omniworld, VVV-Venlo and PSV Eindhoven.
After three years with PSV he joined Turkish side Kayserispor but stayed just one season before making a switch to Galatasaray in the summer of 2012.
Amrabat has been capped 26 times for Morocco, who he opted to represent instead of the Netherlands.
