Chelsea will make a late decision on whether Alexandre Pato will be ready to face Watford tomorrow, but Guus Hiddink has strongly suggested the trip to Vicarage Road may come too soon for the Brazilian.

The 26-year-old former Milan striker has joined the Blues on loan for the remainder of the season from Corinthians and he is available to make his Premier League debut following the completion of the relevant paperwork.

Speaking to the media this afternoon, Hiddink said in comments reported by Chelsea’s website: “Yesterday he [Pato] had to do bureaucratic stuff, which we have to accept, he was out of the country and had to get paperwork done. He’s worked for a few training sessions now and will of course be in this afternoon.

“I don’t know if he’s up to the game but we’ll decide later this afternoon. He’s in preparation. The paperwork is done and formally he is available but that’s another thing to physically and mentally.”

The Stamford Bridge outfit also have a doubt over Willian, who picked up a bruised foot late in Sunday’s 5-1 FA Cup win at Milton Keynes Dons.

“Willian didn’t go on the pitch yesterday because he had bruising on his foot,” said Hiddink. “Today he will be on the pitch and we’ll see how his reaction is after training.”

Striker Loic Remy remains sidelined with a calf injury, while another new arrival, Matt Miazga, is not expected to be involved tomorrow night.

Chelsea go into the game off the back of a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions but a win tomorrow will not be enough to take them above the Hornets in the Premier League table as they are currently four points behind.
