Departing Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores insists he made the right choice to join the club and says it was impossible not to enjoy his experience.

The Spaniard will leave the Hornets at the end of the season following a meeting with the board on Thursday.

Despite only spending one season at Vicarage Road, Flores has no regrets about his choice and has enjoyed his time in England.

The outgoing head coach said: "For me, Watford was a very good choice because I enjoyed the experience a lot and felt completely happy. That is the same thing I’m asking for in the future.

“I was expecting and waiting for a long time to come here to England. I admire a lot everything about the league and the fans. It’s better than other countries.

"When I say I enjoy it’s because I really enjoy this situation including my relationship with the fans every day and every single match. It’s impossible not to enjoy this kind of experience."

Watford Observer:

Flores has been linked with a return to Spain at former club Valencia and also perhaps surprisingly Championship club Leeds United.

He is keeping his options open but hopes to coach again in England after a successful first spell in the country.

Flores, whose final game will be at home to Sunderland tomorrow, said: “I have the feeling I will either stay in England or come back soon. I’m not sure but the idea is to be happy and carry on with the profession and try to choose well the places again."
