Espanyol have turned down the opportunity to buy Watford goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis following his loan spell at the club.

The Lithuania international moved to Espanyol on loan during the January transfer window.

But the 28-year-old only made three appearances in La Liga conceding 12 goals during defeats to Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Las Palmas.

Espanyol were given the option of buying the keeper but have decided against this and he will return to Vicarage Road.

Arlauskis has only made two appearances for the Hornets starting the Capital One Cup defeat at Preston and coming off the bench in the 3-2 Premier League win at Aston Villa in November.
