Watford defender Daniel Pudil missed out on back-to-back promotions after Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 1-0 by Hull City in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Pudil played his final game of a season-long loan with the Owls but the side suffered disappointment after Mohamed Diame's second-half winner.
The defender lasted 86 minutes of the game before being replaced Lucas Joao.
Pudil made 43 appearances for the side this season and will return to Watford for pre-season in July.
Former Hornets forward Fernando Forestieri also played the whole game for Sheffield Wednesday as their hopes of a return to the Premier League were scuppered.
