Valon Behrami has already spoken to new Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri and is relishing the chance to work with him again.

The Switzerland midfielder played under Mazzarri at Napoli in the 2012-13 season and has been reunited with him after the Italian signed a three-year deal to become the Hornets' new boss.

The 31-year-old has admitted his future at Vicarage Road was uncertain prior to the appointment of Mazzarri but his arrival has convinced him to stay at Watford.

Behrami, who is currently competing in France at Euro 2016, told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "With Napoli I was very happy, and I really bonded with Mazzarri.

"I was wrong to move to Germany [to join Hamburg in 2014], that move was too hurried.

"I'll find Mazzarri at Watford again. He already phoned me. 'No monkey business, you're staying with us', he said.

"I'll tell you the truth, I don't know how things would have ended without him on the bench.

"I miss Italy, my family wishes that I played there. But I'm following Mazzarri."
