Arsenal legend and club record goalscorer Thierry Henry has been linked with a coaching role at Watford, after he left the Gunners earlier this week.
Henry, 38, had been helping out coaching the Under-18s at the Emirates Stadium but manager Arsene Wenger ruled he could not split his time between Arsenal and media commitments with Sky Sports.
He tweeted last night : “I would like to thank Andries Jonker for offering me the chance to coach the U-18s at Arsenal, which I was honoured to accept.
“However, I respect Arsène Wenger’s decision and I want to wish their manager Kwame Ampadu, the boys and everyone at the club all the best for the forthcoming season.”
The news has reportedly already alerted Watford and West Ham to his availability, and according to national outlets both are ready to offer his signature to join their backroom staff.
The Frenchman's experience could be a welcome addition to Walter Mazzarri's side, especially with the addition of two young strikers to their frontline this summer in the shape of Isaac Success and Jerome Sinclair.
