A creative collaboration among a number of Watford fans has resulted in the launch of a series of audiobooks.

Hornet Heaven is a set of short stories recorded as audiobooks which are available to listen to free online.

The stories are set in a fictional afterlife - a paradise where Watford fans can carry on watching the team for the rest of time.

The characters in Hornet Heaven include club legends such as Cliff Holton and Tommy Barnett. The fictional stories revolve around real-life matches and incidents from as recently as last season featuring the likes of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo.

The stories, which vary from 20 to 40 minutues, explore football fans’ commitment to supporting a club forever.

Hornet Heaven was created and written by Watford fan Olly Wicken - who has previously written about the club in Nick Hornby's anthology My Favourite Year and in the Tales from the Vicarage series.

The stories are read by Watford fan and actor Colin Mace who has appeared in TV shows such as Maigret, Call the Midwife, The Thick of It and Peep Show.

The series is produced by Watford fan Jon Moonie, from Watford podcast From the Rookery End, with music by Watford fans Steve Joy and Geoff Wicken from local band The Soulmates. Artwork for the series is by Watford fan Andy Barker, creative director of InTouch Marketing.

Creator Olly Wicken said: “We’ve loved making Hornet Heaven and we hope fans will love listening. If they do, we'll happily keep on producing stories for the rest of eternity.”

Series one is already available online at www.HornetHeaven.com. Series two will be released during the 2016/17 season.
