Walter Mazzarri has a number of injury doubts heading into tomorrow's home clash with Bournemouth.

Defender Craig Cathcart visited a specialist in Italy this week for a second opinion on a groin problem while Watford centre-back Miguel Britos is another injury doubt this weekend.

Head coach Mazzarri said: “I still have many doubts [fitness]. This afternoon we have the last training for tomorrow’s game and we will see the squad list I will choose for the game. I hope to get all my doubts clear today."

The Italian expects a reaction from his team against the Cherries after their dismal defeat at Burnley on Monday.

Mazzarri said: “As you said before, aside from the two wins the main thing I look for is at the way we play. For all the games up to Burnley we played in a very good manner.

"We had some wins and losses but we always played our football. Against Burnley this didn’t happen. We didn’t do very well and in training I told my players this only had to be an episode and never happen again."

The Hornets head coach continued: "Watford were not even the brother of the real Watford against Burnley so we’re working on all of the different moments that happened on the pitch and looking forward to tomorrow’s game.

“Of course I would always like to see my team win and beat all of our rivals. But for this we need to have continuity. I tell my players and the whole squad we always have to go on the pitch knowing we are responsible for our destiny.

"It’s up to us and then we can beat any team. For now, I want to know the Burnley game was just an episode and from tomorrow I’m very curious to see how my team will react against Bournemouth."
