Valon Behrami claimed a fine assist as Switzerland maintained their 100 per cent start to World Cup qualifying with a late 3-2 victory in Hungary last night.

The Watford midfielder’s superb pass set up Ricardo Rodriguez to put the Swiss 2-1 ahead in the 67th minute after Adam Szalai had quickly cancelled out Haris Seferovic’s 51st-minute opener.

Szalai was to equalise for a second time in the 72nd minute, but the Swiss made it two wins out of two in Group B when Valentin Stocker scored a 90th-minute winner.

Behrami was booked in injury time, but the victory gives his nation a two-point cushion at the top of Group B ahead of Monday’s trip to Andorra.

Jose Holebas came off the bench with 12 minutes remaining as Greece beat Cyprus 2-0 to also make it two wins out of two in Group H.

First-half goals from Konstantinos Mitroglou and Petros Mantalos secured the victory for the Greeks, who are second in their group behind Belgium on goal difference ahead of facing Estonia away on Monday.

Watford defender Christian Kabasele was an unused substitute as the Belgians saw off Bosnia & Herzegovina 4-o through an Emir Spahic own goal and efforts from Premier League-based trio Eden Hazard, Toby Alderweireld and Romelu Lukaku.
