The EFL have confirmed they have received an interim report from Watford over the allegations made against them.
Watford completed their preliminary investigation into allegations of supplying false financial information to the Football League.
The allegations claim the Hornets submitted a forged bank letter when Gino Pozzo became the sole owner prior to the 2014-15 campaign.
Watford executive chairman Raffaele Riva stepped down yesterday following the allegations made against the club with chief executive Scott Duxbury taking on his position.
The EFL have received the interim report and expect the full report in a relatively short period of time.
Once the full report is received the EFL will consider the content and determine the appropriate course of action.
