Head coach Walter Mazzarri has confirmed forward Isaac Success has travelled to Barcelona to see a leading specialist over his lingering muscle injury.
Watford's summer signing has not featured since starting their win at Middlesbrough in the middle of October.
In an effort to speed up his recovery, the Premier League club have sent Success out to Spain.
Mazzarri said: "This club has different roles. I know that the medical team is doing the best it can to get the injured players back.
"He went to Barcelona to see the best specialist and this is something the club is doing, to send the players where the best specialists in the world are."
Success is one of a number of injured players at the club with Kenedy and Craig Cathcart currently sidelined.
