Watford defender Miguel Britos is still considered on four yellow cards after his double-booking in yesterday's Stoke City defeat.
The Uruguayan was given a first-half yellow for talking back to referee Bobby Madley, in one of three petulant dissent bookings given to the Hornets during the game.
He was then shown a late red as he needlessly tugged down Xherdan Shaqiri with the Swiss star going nowhere on the break from a Watford corner, hampering the Hornets' attempts to get back into the game.
But the FA have instead wiped out his fifth yellow card of the campaign, and will simply face a one-match ban for his red card.
However, it does also mean the defender will also be suspended for a game the next time he picks up a booking, unless he is next cautioned after December 31, by which point the five yellow card ban system is cast aside.
