A first Watford start for Jerome Sinclair has given the 20-year-old food for thought as he weighs up his options in January, sources close to the player have told the Watford Observer.

Various reports have linked the former Liverpool man with a move away from Vicarage Road in January.

But there has been no firm interest from any club ahead of the transfer window opening on Sunday.

Bristol City, Norwich, Brighton, Wolves and Brentford were chasing his signature earlier in the season - however, none are close to finalising any deal while he assesses his options.

Sinclair has been buoyed after he was named in Walter Mazzarri's starting line-up at Manchester City on December 14, and he has since enjoyed another brief run out in Sunday's draw with Crystal Palace.

Any move the striker does make, sources confirmed, is likely to occur after the FA Cup third round tie with Burton Albion on January 7.
