Jerome Sinclair believes Watford youngster Brandon Mason can be an inspiration for the next generation of the club's youth prospects after another assured performance for the Hornets.
18-year-old Mason, whose debut only came against Spurs a week ago, looked like a first-team regular with a strong showing in yesterday's 2-0 win over Burton Albion, in a game where fellow academy graduate Carl Stewart also made his debut late on.
The Hornets have been derided for the lack of youth products getting a chance with the club's first-team in recent years.
But Sinclair, who scored his first Watford goal in yesterday's game, thinks Mason can prove an extra incentive.
He said: "It’s very important for the young players to see there’s a pathway where they can make the first team and make an impact.
"Mason has been top drawer. He’s looked at ease at this level. If more players can come in and play their role like him, it’ll be great.
"He’s proud to be involved in the first team, to be involved and get an assist on his first start is fantastic for him."
