Watford Under-23s' poor form continued after being thrashed 4-0 at Colchester United this afternoon.
Harry Kewell's side have not won since the start of September and their disappointing run was extended after a heavy loss in the Professional Development League against the U's.
The Hornets featured three players that recently made their first-team debuts with Brandon Mason, Carl Stewart and Michael Folivi all starting.
Colchester opened the scoring two minutes before half-time when Tariq Issa netted from close range.
The hosts doubled their lead three minutes into the second half when Issa headed past goalkeeper Charlie Bannister.
Colchester made it 3-0 just two minutes later when Charley Edge fired home from 18 yards.
Femi Akinwande rounded off the scoring in the 81st minute when he tapped in United's fourth goal of the game.
Watford: Bannister; Rogers, Ryan, Rowan, Mason; Ovenden, Stewart (Adeyemo, 75), Charles, Pereira (Obi, 55); Folivi, Jakubiak
