Watford ended a five-match losing away run in the Premier League after claiming a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

The Hornets were under pressure early on but grabbed the opening goal against the run of play through Christian Kabasele’s header.

But Watford conceded an equaliser at the start of the second half after Josh King tapped in from Adam Smith’s cross.

Walter Mazzarri’s side struck again to reclaim the lead through Troy Deeney’s 101st goal for the club.

But the Cherries deservedly equalised again in the last ten minutes through substitute Benik Afobe to secure a sixth draw in seven meetings between the sides.

Here's how Watford's players rated in the draw:

Heurelho Gomes - 8

The goalkeeper made an important early save doing well to tip Ryan Fraser’s header over the bar. Gomes again impressed before the break to keep out a deflected Junior Stanislas effort.

Could not be blamed for either of the goals and pulled off an excellent second-half save from Fraser’s curling shot.

Miguel Britos - 6

Resorted to an awful lot of long balls in the first half and not many of them found a team-mate.

Set up the Hornets’ opener after heading on a corner which enabled Christian Kabasele to score.

Younes Kaboul - 6

Reasonably solid in the first half but afforded too much space to Josh King for the hosts’ equaliser.

The defender was hung out to dry by Christian Kabasele's decision to lie down with cramp for the Cherries' second goal. Harsh to blame him for this.

Sebastian Prodl - 6.5

Solid for the most part but an uncharacteristically sloppy pass almost gifted Bournemouth a chance before the break.

Still remains Watford's most reliable defender and did little else wrong during the game.

Jose Holebas - 6.5

The wing-back delivered the corner which enabled Watford to take a first-half lead. Went close early on in the second half with a low strike which was saved.

Brought down Jack Wilshere which led to a booking - his tenth yellow card of the season - resulting in a two-game ban.

Watford Observer:

Christian Kabasele - 5.5

Did not look comfortable at right wing-back which was no surprise considering he was playing out of position.

But the defender has a knack of getting into dangerous attacking areas and added to his tally with the opening goal.

Did not cover himself in glory at all after going down with cramp in the build-up to Bournemouth's second equaliser.

This left Walter Mazzarri annoyed and fans will have every right to be angry at his costly decision.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 7

Neat and tidy early on with some slick passing in the midfield. Watford’s best outfield player in the first half.

Offered so much energy on and off the ball so it was understandable when he tired during the second period.

Etienne Capoue - 5.5

Struggled to influence proceedings and did little to suggest he is worthy of a guaranteed place in the team’s midfield. Needs more pressure on him to bring out his best form.

Watford Observer:

Tom Cleverley - 6.5

The Everton loanee was always looking to be positive and fired in a first-half effort which flew wide of the target.

Provided the assist for Troy Deeney's second-half header and you feel there is more to come from the midfielder.

Troy Deeney - 7

Started exceptionally deep and the captain managed to lose his boot briefly in the opening minutes. Worked extremely hard for the team even if this limited his attacking threat.

Deeney profited from some shoddy Bournemouth defending to beat Artur Boruc to the ball and head the Hornets back into the lead.

Stefano Okaka - 5.5

Struggled to get into the game during the first half. Toiled away and tried to hold the ball up but was largely ineffective and no surprise when he was replaced after the break.

Substitutes

Daryl Janmaat (for Okaka, 62) - 6

A welcome return for the Dutch wing-back in the last half hour as he showed a few nice touches and a willingness to get forward.

Craig Cathcart (for Kabasele, 85) - N/A

Odion Ighalo (for Doucoure, 88) - N/A
